This is how we find the best alternative investments
Screening of the market
The investment process starts with a screening of the market for attractive investment opportunities in alternatives. Here we can draw on a professional network of experienced investment professionals who present the most attractive opportunities and projects to Selected Alternatives Management ApS. These projects can be both publicly known projects, but they can also be projects that are only offered to Selected Alternatives A/S. The attractiveness of the projects is assessed both individually and in relation to the interaction with the other investments of Selected Alternatives A/S.
Thorough analysis
If the case seems interesting after the initial screening, we start a comprehensive analysis, where the project assumptions are analysed and assessed. In this phase, we focus specifically on economic parameters such as revenue potential, operating costs and financing. These parameters are held against the asset's purchase price and expectations of a sale price. Understanding and quantifying relevant risks is a major focus in this phase.
Due Diligence
If the economic conditions are deemed attractive, a due diligence meeting is held with the project provider. This is a meeting where we assess parameters such as the provider's organisation, experience and skills in sourcing and managing the project. We will of course also ask about the financial aspects of the project.
Strong negotiation
In the final phase, we enter a negotiation of terms with the project provider. As we are many together and can invest significant amounts through our "buying group", we can obtain better terms than investing individually. Once the terms have been negotiated, an analysis and description of the project's economics is prepared and presented in a written recommendation to the Selected Alternatives A/S Board.

Bertel is Head of Investments at Selected Advice - part of Selected Group Denmark, where he is responsible for the analysis department. He was previously Partner and Head of the Investment Department at the consultancy Kirstein A/S, where he was responsible for advising institutional investors on investment strategy and asset manager selection.
